Founder’s Story
In 2009, we created the The Philanthropy Club Foundation, a project dedicated to “changing the age of philanthropy” and teaching today’s youth the value and joys of giving without expectations. The inaugural presentation to five 3rd grade classes occurred in early 2010 at Olivenhain Pioneer Elementary School (OPE). Enjoying personal success in their business enterprises, Steve Knight and Dave Baker provided the majority of the initial funding The Philanthropy Club Foundation out of proceeds from their real estate brokerage, The Prestige Realty Group (www.prestigerealty4u.com). Located in Rancho Santa Fe, CA and serving north San Diego communities, Steve and Dave have a long-standing commitment to charitable giving.
Along with the foundation’s growth, we are receiving requests for projects outside of the geographic reach of the founders. Steve and Dave have a commitment “not to stand in the way of progress”, so they have defined a Program Development project to create digital teaching materials and supporting documentation for Philanthropy Club Projects to occur in other parts of the county, state, nationwide and eventually globally.
